Market Odds & Ends

Low Country Originals crafts light fixtures, funrniture and accessories with the lowcountry style of South Carolina and Georgia. This is a young company of artisans that use  natural materials such as marsh reeds, sea shells, driftwood and old metal among others, that result in items that can be used in a wide variety of decorating styles. I liked the organic feel to much of what they had here in High Point. It just felt, well, natural, and beautifully designed and crafted.

This chair by Design Legacy is called the Daniel Armchair in Ocean Ikat. I rather liked the lines. It was in the lobby as I walked into one of the showroom buildings. I sat in it and it was quite comfortable.

A few pieces from the highly creative company Pulvermacher Designs. Many of the items from this Florida company have become highly collectable and sought after. They also do commissioned and custom work. These are just a few……..

These were terrific pillows. Horses, elegant in bullion trim. These had so much character.

Design Accents had a gorgeous and eye-catching variety of pillows and textiles in solids, patterns. All designs by Shalini Kakar. The photos speak for themselves.

Classic Home is California based and offers rugs, furnishings, textiles. They are members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council. I spoke at length with Rupal Mamtani, who was one of the nicest people I met at market. She obviously loved her job, and was knowledgable about every product on the floor. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and I look forward to working with her.

I got a kick out of these two pieces…..They are the ultimate child and pet proof pieces of furniture. No slipcovers needed! It was actually quite comfortable to sit in.

These rugs were so pretty, they begged you to touch them. They are made by taking old rugs, cutting them up in smaller pieces, then piecing them together. They have actual worn spots, and are teated so that they are amazingly soft.

These were beautiful natural fiber rugs. Rupal insisted that I walk on a couple of them barefoot, and I was amazed that they felt so soft and comfortable to walk on.

Love, love these…….

Just a few of their color offerings in linen.

Gray and green with neutrals……

I adore Chesterfield sofas. This was on a smaller scale, appropraite for smaller apartments or rooms.

Just a few of the hundreds of choices in these beautifully made and constructed, down filled pillows.

Thanks for visiting. The gardens await. I will also be introducing you to my two “kids” of the four legged kind, Whitley and Carter, and filling you in about their arrival into my family in rather unexpected ways. Laters, charisse
