I really enjoy adding touches of spring around the house. The cheerful colors keep me motivated to believe that spring really is right around the corner, even if there are still patches of snow on the ground, and it is downright chilly and the wind is really blowing! I love to shop the thrift store and Dollar store. At our local 4 Paws thrift store (that supports rescue animals) I found several lovely pieces of spring themed pottery for a song, and added them to my spring decor stash. In the following photos all I did was change things around to create different looks, using some of my everyday items as well. You might be surprised how many items you have around the house that can be used in new, temporary, maybe unusual and creative ways, and that to me makes it fun, especially because it is free!

Some of the items I started gathering from around the house, from my previous Easter cache, and some from the thrift store and Dollar store. An afternoon of fun for me…….

This bunny moves from the Garden house shelf, to the house for spring time. Here she is all by her lonesome on the hunt board……

I bet you have never seen a carrot quite like this one! A 50 cent find at the thrift shop. I walked away from it at least three times, but something drew me back. Whimsy I guess. I added a few of my painted eggs and hung one from the carrot top. Bunny does not look amused………

Here I took the teapot that was on the mini bench in the kitchen, and put it along side a porcelain eggs, the mini tree and a single bird. I liked this………

Here I added a mini tree that can hold several eggs. I chose to hang just one, and add the half eggs with candles…..

On the hunt board on the opposite side , a small arrangement sans bunny, and a couple of my painted eggs……..

In this arrangement, a bit more rustic and earthy, I took $4 glass containers and put a couple of birds I usually place in outdoor containers for interest, inside on top of some spanish moss, and topped with a twig mini-wreath. I took one of my wood salad bowls and put a few brown paper eggs inside…..done!

A small wire basket that often holds a small potted plant, now holds brown paper eggs, and sits on the library table near the arrangement above. The little wire basket was a find for $1 last year at the Thrift store and I have done lots of fun things with it.

Using some flowers, adding a little painted wood sign stuck in some florists foam inside the pail, and changing things up a bit gives an entirely different effect……….

Basket arrangement (old basket, had such a long time but love the texture and multi-color weave. The little ceramic basket I got for a buck at a yard sale years ago.

Here is the same arrangement with a vase of flowers added. Flowers can be the finishing touch and add so much to many vignettes.

A close up of the eggs…..I love glitter, and a bit of glitz on some of the eggs is a fun thing to do. The pearl essence of the eggs gives a soft impression against the sparkle of the eggs, giving some balance texture wise.

When I came back past this arrangement, the light had changed. Bunny is still swinging after several hours. It was straight out of Beatrix Potter………I fully expected Squirrel Nutkin to open the door and yell….”time for dinner”………

I placed the two glass containers on this sweet little bench that stays on the floor in my kitchen, along with the wire basket……..

Again, using the bench, this time decorated with a French ceramic rabbit I have had forever, and stays out all year, moving around from room to room. He has bells on his leather collar, and with one lop ear he makes me smile. This time the containers each sport a clip on hair flower. The wire basket is the same one I used in the library.

Simply placing some decorative eggs in a bowl and placing that onto a charger or larger decorative bowl on a table can announce spring is here just as nicely as more elaborate arrangements. Some of these eggs I painted eons ago with my friend SW. Happy memories also.
That is it. I hope it sparks a creative urge in you to pull out a few items and make a spring arrangement. HAPPY SPRING !!!! Thank you for visiting. cheers, charisse
