In the library on the glass and metal library table are some antique books, a wood box, and some decorative objects. ...Continue reading...
The next exhibit was simply incredible, not just for the sheer number of pieces, but for the color combinations, the size and complexity. It was huge. ...Continue reading...
Today I am continuing by posting, first, the Northwest influenced installation called "Tabac Baskets" of the Chihuly Museum Exhibit. Quite a departure from the riot of color we saw in earlier posts. As you entered the room your eyes were immediately drawn to..... ...Continue reading...
Wednesday is the first day of Spring. It was such a busy winter, and I am barely able to believe the warmer months will soon be upon us. Spring is most beautiful in the south, I believe more so than anywhere else, but it is also quite a short season in these parts. We may have barely 2 months of lovely tolerable temperatures with lower humidity and downright pleasant weather. I have never adjusted to how the weather goes so suddenly from that, straight to hot summer heat, rising humidity, pesky ...Continue reading...
The last post introduced you to Dale Chihuly and a bit of his design biography. I then shared a description and photos of part of the exhibit I attended in Richmond, Virginia. I related it just a little bit to thinking about interior design and color. Check it out if you missed it. Today I will share photos of two more installations - the ceiling installation, referred to as "Persian Ceiling" and the "Macchia Forest". Recently we drove to Richmond, VA to the Museum of Fine Arts to attend the Chihuly Glass Exhibit. I was anxious to see it and finally made the drive to Richmond before the exhibit closed. I was both moved and inspired by these magnificent works of glass art. Today I offer you some photos....the first two are credited to the photographers in the caption. For the next few posts I will share some of the photos we took. I choose the Chihuly Exhibit as one of my early posts for a couple of ...Continue reading...

I already had an antiqued metal sun that Keith got for me at a lovely shop called Twig in Chapel Hill, NC. I really enjoyed having the sun where I could see it because it was a bit different and made me smile. However, the blank wall above it needed filling. I couldn't put anything too deep there, like a shelf or file because of the door on the hutch above my desk opening towards the wall. A ...Continue reading...
