Every once in a while I come across a house that pushes all the right buttons for me, well almost. It nuzzles into a silvan setting, has beautiful and embracing outdoor spaces, and the interior is bright yet cozy and welcoming, understated with a sophisticated blend of modern and antique. It was originally built in 1960 in historic Deerfield, MA, moved to this spot and renovated. New additions bring the square footage to 4567. It offers classic New England architecture and a modern and a bit southern approach to farmhouse style. So what button did it miss? It’s in Atlanta’s Buckhead area instead of New England. Let’s take a look. This home has 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, 9 ft ceilings on both floors, multiple fireplaces, all situated on 1.71 acres.
Wonderful curb appeal, simple, clean lines. Love the wood shingled roof.
You will notice a lot of shiplap throughout.
Notice that the interior windows are painted black. I think the choice of black adds a bit of elegance.
the paint palette is white or cream throughout. The color comes from beautiful antique wood pieces and in the area carpets. Many of the downstairs rooms have wood beams.
I like how they used raw wood shutters on each side of the windows in this breakfast room.
The fireplaces throughout the house are a true New England replica, with opening large enough to accommodate the pots used to cook and heat water.
oh la la. What a beautiful collection of copper cooking utensils. There seems to be a bit of french country influence here and there.
It looks like a closet to the left of the fireplace, that when closed, because of the continuation of shiplap, would disappear. Maybe a secret room? The coffee table lends an industrial/farm feel.
Even though the shiplap is in every room, the use of warm woods keeps it from looking boring. I am not a fanatic fan for white kitchens, but I have to say that I like this, again because the walls have texture from the shiplap, instead of just a flat expanse of white walls and shiny subway tile.
The master bedroom has beautiful hardwood floors and a fireplace. While a large room, it still feels inviting.
I like that they made a choice not to continue the shiplap over the entire second floor. That would have been overkill. The master also has a nice sitting area. I would have preferred a taller mirror.

Very nice home! I really love the outdoors too! The building in the back looks particularly cozy.
So many things to love about this home! I would prefer a little more color, a few more indoor plants and maybe a dog & cat to finish off the homey atmosphere. It really is gorgeous, thanks for the tour!
