About The Painting
This is an appropriate image to signal the countdown of the last 10 paintings I think. This little elephant seems to be leading the charge, as the other objects point in the same direction, ready to march. A friend of mine, knowing about my affinity for elephants, placed a substantial collection of them in my care so I might include them in my paintings. This is one of about 20 or so new elephants I have at my disposal for a time to experiment with. The green papier mache box from India functions as the essential element that holds the composition together, keeping our attention and preventing the eye from marching too quickly right out of the picture.
